Description:
Husqvarna 1640 in 6.5x55 Swedish. Husqvarna began manufacturing an improved M98 action in 1953 and marketed it as their 1600 series rifle. It was built until 1969. The Husqvarna 1640 is a controlled round feed design with a 5 round drop floorplate magazine. It has a front blade sight, an express rear sight, and bases for scope mounting. It has a two-position slide safety which locks the bolt. It has a mechanical ejector and a large claw extractor. The barrel is 24 inches. The action feeds smoothly and has a very safe operating system with a 3rd safety lug. The 6.5x55 Swedish is a rimless cartridge was introduced as a military cartridge by Norway and Sweden in the 1890s. It remains a very popular cartridge among the Scandinavian countries, being used for game species as large as European moose. 6.5x55 Swedish
