I guess it's worth starting by addressing the obvious elephant in the room – What on earth was Smith & Wesson doing making a Walther? Well, for a time, Smith & Wesson owned Walther and hence had access to the PPK for manufacture. It cranked out PPK variants from 2001 to 2012.
