Family Collection piece is a Used, Winchester Model 1892 / Model 92 Saddle Ring Carbine in 25-20 Caliber with 20-Inch Round Barrel and Full Length Magazine Tube. Serial Number 797,6XX indicates 1914 year of manufacture; and the Barrel, Receiver, Patent, and Caliber Markings are Sharp and Correct. The 25-20 caliber-specific Single Band and Rifle-Style Magazine Tube Retainer are also correct. An Adjustable Ladder Sight appears Vintage, but likely not factory original. The Smooth Wood Stock and Forend are Straight-Grained, Dark with Age, and in good condition with a Standard Blued Buttplate that has some remaining finish. A butt-swivel used to be present. The rest of the metal is blued with finish and condition shown in the photos – that reveal modest wear for age (110 years). Rifling appears decently preserved to the eye; we do not have a borescope. Mechanical functions are tight and secure making this a collectible shooter. We are not dealers or experts, and estimate this Carbine as approximately 80 Percent (or better) Original Condition.
