Description:
The Fieldmaster 572 was produced from 1964 onward. This one has a "CO" barrel code, was manufactured in 1970 or 1993, more likely the latter. The Smooth bores were manufactured to use .22 shot cartridges for controlling pests and are firmly part of the "garden gun" class of weapons. The Europeans don't even consider them as firearms. There is a chance that it was also produced for the demands of the MoSkeet target sport where hand-thrown clay target were tossed , literally from the hand" in front of shooters on a .22 rimfire range, and shooters would "bust clays" at roughly 50 feet. The idea was that Scout and 4H camps could have wing shooting sports without the large expense of a special trap range and trap equipment. This one is in exceptionally good condition as most of these guns saw hard use by inexperienced shooters. The one scratch appears to be of the "rack rash" category. .22 Long Rifle
