Description:
Serial #341900B, .38 W.C.F. (.38-40), 24 inch octagon barrel with a bright, excellent bore bearing Winchester factory mail order proof. This is the 3rd model Winchester Model 1873 rifle manufactured in 1890. It has the full length magazine tube, correct third model dust cover, and crescent butt plate with brass trap door. The barrel retains about 85-90% original blue with crisp, clear markings showing thinning on the high edges, some scattered freckling and use marks. The frame and magazine tube are mostly a plum-brown with various marks and contusions and has a "K" scratched into the left side of the frame and on the brass elevator bottom. The stock and forearm remain solid and free of cracks with some old contusions and use marks. The action functions properly with a smooth action and crisp trigger. A great looking '73. Antique
