This Springfield Model U.S. 1873 is a single shot trapdoor action rifle in .45-70 Gov't. Cal. It has a 32.5 inch barrel. A blade front sight and an adjustable flip up two position notch middle sight. The butt stock is a smooth grip walnut straight grip. The forearm is a smooth grip walnut. Serial Number 87500 (1878). .45-70 Government
