Description:
Browning Citori Superlight Grade V with sideplates, 20 gauge O/U shotgun.
Made in 1981 several years before Browning introduced choke tubes this cute little 20 gauge has 26” with vent rib and it is choked IC/Mod.
Being that this 20 is a superlight it features a tapered Schnabel forearm and straight-grip (English) butt stock. The stock has a 14 ¼” LOP to the factory butt plate with 1 ½” DAC and 2 3/8” DAH with neutral cast. Both, the nicely figured buttstock and the forearm are finished in a satin oil.
The sideplated frame is fully covered in game scene engraving and completed with scroll. There are quail in flight on the left panel, doves/pigeons on the right side and quail with a pointing dog on the bottom. The frame, forearm metal and trigger guard are all finished in a matte gray. Gold trigger and bright blued barrels.
Condition wise this gun is 98%+ with a few very light handling marks on the stock. I think it has been fired once or twice but it is very hard to see any indication of that!!
This is a fine upland bird gun, weighing 6 lbs. 11oz. that balances right on the hinge pin.
If this is the first Gr V 20 SL that you’ve seen that is for good reason. There were very few of these ever built making this a very collectible Citori as well as a great gun.
