Remington Model 40-XB Match/Varmint Grade Rifle chambered in .22-250 Remington. S#346XXB I have designated this as match/Varmint as according to my research All of the Match/Varmint Grade 40-XBs, regardless of whether single shot, or repeater, are marked (Stamped!) 40-X on the left side of the receiver, opposite of the ejection port. The "B" part of the designation is the last digit of the serial number, as in "XXXXXX B". I cannot find a 2 Digit Date code on the left side of the barrel But I have included the Code Found there .This is a heavy barrel bolt action bench rifle. The barrel length is 27 1/2” inches. It is drilled and tapped on the action and also on the barrel for mounting Unertl type scope mounts. The left side of the receiver is also drilled, tapped, and filled for mounting an aperture sight. It has a one-piece Wooden Pistol Grip stock This rifle is in like new condition. The bore is bright, and the rifling is sharp.
