COLT MODEL 1903 .38 ACP POCKET HAMMER AUTO PISTOL, #47XXX, MADE 1929. These are really interesting primitive Colt auto pistols as they don't even have any safeties etc... just a hammer with half cock. This 95 year old example shows fine deep blue on the frame with only some thinning on the slide sides. Exc. markings. Good blue on the grip straps and some nice case color on the hammer with fire blue on the trigger. Unaltered sights exc. hard rubber grips and correct magazine marked "PKT COLT .38 CAL." Tight action with excellent bore. The .38 ACP case is exactly the same as the later .38 Super that was just loaded to lower pressures. It is not uncommon th find these with cracked slides from firing with .38 Super ammo.- that should never be attempted. Decent examples of these early "slab side" Colt autos are getting hard to find.
