Description:
Manufactured from 1922-1938, the top flat of the barrel is marked with the two-line Marlin address and patent and the caliber marking is on the upper left at the breech. The upper tang is marked "Marlin/MOD. 39" and the serial number is on the lower tang. It is fitted with a beaded blade front sight and a rear sight insert as well as the desirable casehardened takedown receiver. It is mounted with a smooth forearm and pistol grip stock with an original hard rubber butt plate. It has a period correct Hensoldt Wetzlar 4X scope. Condition is very good, retains 90% plus of the original blue finish and 95% plus of the vibrant original case colors with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina. The wood is also excellent with a few scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. .22 Short/Long/Long Rifle
