Description:
For your consideration, the St. Etienne MLE 1907-15 bolt action rifle chambered in 8mm Lebel. The 1907-15 was one of the primary rifles used by the French in World War 1. Berthier was a family of rifles used, this being one of them. The 1907 was fed by a 3 round stripper clip, which was found to be inferior to the German Mod. 98 rifles, both in capacity and speed of loading. This was addressed with the M-16 model that had a 5 round capacity. It has the N proof mark meaning it was modified for World War 2 usage with a higher pressure cartridge. The barrel, stock, bolt and floorplate have matching serials. 8x50mmR Lebel
