THE SERIAL NUMBER IS 28315AThe only thing keeping it 100% is it appears to be drilled for scope bases, but I can't verify it, the original owner is deceased can't find any marks on either the bluing or the stock finish. Even the steel butt plate is almost perfect. The markings on the barrel are MADE IN NEW HAVEN CONN. USA OF AMERICA WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL WINCHESTER TRADE MARK MODEL 43 22HORNET.The scope is a Weaver J4 3/4" tube and standard cross wires in detachable Weaver rings and bases.ALL PHOTOGRAPHS. BUYER PAYS SHIPPINGUPS ECONOMNY GROUND INSURED FOR THE SELLING PRICE. $85.00. I was recently informed that model 43"s with the letter A after the serial number are the later models and they are according to him drilled and tapped from the factory.
