Description:
12 Gauge John Dickson & Sons Round Action Ejector Shotgun. Serial number 5542, originally built in 1903. One of 1937 made, according to historian Donald Dallas. Originally the second gun of a pair, with action and foreend marked as such. The 1036th gun built against Dickson patent 294, and so marked.
Replacement 27 inch London proved barrels in excellent condition with bore measurements of .731 Right and .730 Left. Minimum wall thicknesses are .027 Right and .028 Left, with perfect upland chokes of .006 Right and .014 Left. Barrels bear London 1954-89 proof marks, and the 2 5/8 bores are proved at 2 1/2 inches (see photo 9).
Stock measurements show DAC at 1 1/2 inches, DAH at 2 1/8 inches, and LOP of 14 1/2 inches. Measurement to end of wood is 13 5/8 inches. Stock is finished with leather pad. A thin pad spacer has been added to achieve the measured LOP (see photo 7).
A very nice example of a rare and unique shotgun. Total weight is 6 pounds 7 ounces. Provided with "worry-free" barrels in prime shooting configuration. Tested with RST #5s on Prairie Grouse and Pheasant this past season with splendid results. Willing to discuss reasonable offers.
