VERY HIGH CONDITION 1873 .38-40 OCTAGON RIFLE, #468XXX, MADE 1893. One of the nicest I've offered in a long time, this one retains most of the bright blue on the receiver with only a little thinning/plum on the upper tang and some very minor edge wear. Cust cover intact and the mellow brass lifter is caliber marked and not dinged. Similarly, the barrel and magazine show most of the deep blue with exc. markings, and only the most minor of wear. Buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar intact and Winchester blade front sight. Exc. stock and forend with tight wood to metal fit. Still some case color on the hammer and even the forend cap shows good blue. Tight action with strong safety half-cock and BRIGHT MINTY bore! Hard to find in this excellent overall condition inside and out. (NOTE: WHAT LOOKS LIKE SCUFFS OR LIGHT SPOTS ON THE RECEIVER IN THE CLOSD UP PHOTOS IS JUST LIGHT REFLECTION OFF OIL)
