Description:
One of the great rarities and exciting finds in all of Winchester Lever Action collecting - a factory documented engraved gun with factory gold and silver plating. This rifle with full silver plated octagon barrel. Factory checkered forearm and buttstock made in XXX American Walnut which is very nicely flame figured. Frame is beautlfully factory engraved and gold plated as seen in the photos and confirmed by the Cody Firearms Museum letter included with the gun describing it as found today.
This fine Winchester remains in beautiful overall condition. Barrel with the vast majority of original silver plated remaining. Frame with beautiful original engraving and more than 85% original gold plating remains. The stocks are excellent and have most of their fine hand rubbed finish remaining. Buttplate is excellent with about 1/2 of its original gold plating remaining. Bore is mostly bright and mechanics are perfect.
