Manufactured c. 1861-1865. "L.F.R" inspection initials on the left of the breech, oval script "JH" inspection cartouche stamped on the left stock wrist.

Rating Definition:
FINE Case color and smokey case color with original finish and scattered spotting,  and shootable bore.. Wood is fine with some scratches, dents, a few small chips, and clear cartouche. Mechanically excellent. Since this carbine was lightly used, extra effort needed to open breech. I added oil to make it easier.
