For sale is a really nice and interesting 1953 Charles Hellis and Sons LTD
12 Guage side by side ejector shotgun. Serial number 5695. 26" nitro
proofed barrels with Charles Hellis and Sons LTD 121-3 Edgeware RD
London England inscribed on the top rib. 2 1/2" Chambers with Cylinder
and Improved Cylinder chokes. Automatic safety with Bouquet ands Scroll
engraving. Barrells retain original color hardening and finish. The unusual
feature is the very fine andn rarely found beavertail forearm that has a access hole
to the push rod release catch on the foreend. I have had the forearm looked at
by other collectors and agree that this must have done to accomodate the buyer,
possibly with larger hands who was un comfortable with a splinter forearm.
Having average a hand size, the forearm is very comfortable when using and the
foreend is easily removed and snaps back in place. Bore are mirror clean. No
pitting whatsoever on metal. A very nice looking Hellis that will satisfy the hunter
or collector. C&R FFL eligible.
