Description:
30 inch octagon mid-weight barrel is about equivalent to a Winchester #3 barrel. Barrel shows a good deal of original finish starting to tone brown with scattered light freckling and slight thinning on the corners. Bore is bright and shiny with decent rifling showing just a few small ares of scattered light pitting. Sights include a globe front, a Rocky Mountain sporting rear and a graduated folding peep sight behind the hammer. The Ballard No. 4 “Perfection” rifles were made with Norway Iron forged frames for High-Power cartridges. This one shows somewhat faded color case hardening appearing more vivid in protected areas. Walnut stocks are clean and solid showing minimal wear and handling marks. Features a crescent steel butt plate.
