Description:
NSN, .45 Caliber, 2 9/16" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is an attractive pistol that has an overall pale yellow and ochre patina throughout, with some scattered dark spots throughout. The box frame has a British shield and panoply motif on the right side, and "SIMMONS" on the left. There were two gunmakers in Birmingham in the early 1800s named Simmons: Joseph and John. The bag-shaped, walnut grip has some minor handling marks and blemishes scattered about the original oil finish. The lock and sliding safety are both fully functional. This is a very attractive little pistol, and is in very good-near fine condition overall. Antique
