Description:
Originally the 1895G was manufactured as a gunsmith's aftermarket modification. It was developed for Alaskan Guides who needed a "thumper" to dispatch dangerous game that threatened them or their clients. Marlin improved upon the design a bit with ported barrels, cross-bolt safeties, but essentially they are the same guns. They are quite popular with dangerous game hunters and guides alike, as they are light, and fast-handling. .45-70 Government
