Description:
F/S Antique Colt SAA made in 1880, re-nickled. All original Colt Parts (stamped 44 on bottom of bbl. and left front side of the trigger guard, 3 Line patent dates still legible). Barell has been shortened to 5 " bore is great (lands and grooves v.g.). Probably left Colt with a 71/2" long bbl. Matching numbers stamped on frame; trigger guard; and bottom of Back Strap. No Colt barrel address on top of barrel (probobly lost when refinished). Correct one pc wooden gips with "Blind" screw. I took two photos of Colt Serial Numbers from the Colt Forum that showed provenance for 1st Gen.Colts. This document states that in 1881 Colt made a shipment of SAA to Mexican National Copper Company, matched to that shipment was serial number 64536 (8 numbers away from my Colt #64544).
