Solid frame, U.S. Marked with the hand stamped Ord. Bomb. ( as it should be ). The metal appears to be the original finish. The wood appears to be refinished , but the wood is solid in every respect... There is very little " commercial shine " remaining on the metal. It can be seen on the under side of the barrel, and a couple of spots on the receiver.....(106 years old will do that to you ..) The other metal is a flatter blue, presumably from age. The serial number is proper for the solid frame,1918 era period. The barrel retains the rear most section of the original bayonet lug and sling swivel. It also retains the very early marking of " PAT.APL. FOR " on the lug. The sling is marked RIA 1918 .The shotgun functions as designed., and retains the "slam fire" capability. Very clean inside. The plastic butt plate has been replaced by a steel butt plate...as most were. I see no corrosion on the shot gun except on the rear sling swivel. This weapon would fit great into any collectionand I have always been proud to show it off to anyone....I think that you would be too. Thank you for looking. Questions welcomed, Must ship to an FFL or C&R. $50 will cover USPS postage and transfer fee. Insurence can be added. Be sure that you know your state and local laws. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
