A compact version of the legendary P226®, the P229 offers exceptional ergonomics and balance to deliver major firepower when needed. The one-piece, reduced-reach ergonomic E2 grip and a shorter barrel and slide facilitate effective concealed carry for law enforcement and civilians alike. Its newly designed slide combines stainless steel construction with a black Nitron coating to resist wear and corrosion. 3-dot SIGLITE night sights provide excellent target acquisition in all conditions, including low light or poor visibility conditions. The black, hard-coat anodized alloy frame features an integral 3-lug Picatinny rail for attaching aftermarket sights and lights. The P229 operates with a double action/single action design, with only 3 controls: the slide stop, the magazine release, and the decocker, enabling the pistol to be deployed quickly without having to flip a mechanical safety on or off.
