Description:
This Custom Winchester Model 70 rifle, originally manufactured in 1941 and fully customized by Al Biesen, looks to be in almost new condition. Its 24" barrel and pre war action are in immaculate condition, with the only discoloration to the metal being several plugs in the receiver wall that are the only evidence of a side mount scope that was present before Mr. Biesen customized the rifle. The stock is done in the typical manner of other Biesen custom stocks and shows only the lightest of handling marks. An interesting modification of note is the safety lever, the original pre war safety was turned to the left, limiting use of scopes. In this case Mr. Biesen installed a custom oversized lever that acts similar to newer model 70's and rotates to the right allowing for lower mounting of optics.
