"Serial number 7833. Made in 1878. 45-75 caliber with a 28" barrel. This gun is in excellent condition with 92% - 93% of the original finish. The wood is very good and has been lightly cleaned. The top of the butt plate is slightly proud, but does not show any signs of sanding. This is a 2nd Model Rifle with a screwed on the top rail. It is an early gun without a caliber marking because Winchester was only making this rifle in 45-75. This gun also has a set trigger. There is a record sheet that accompanies this gun that confirm all features. Under remarks it says “LID" which means it has a dust cover.
