Description: This is a Colt Model 1911 that was made in 1918 during WWI. This pistol is a rebuild by Springfield Armory and remains in good surplus condition. The left side of the slide is marked "PATENTED APR.20.1897. SEPT.9,1902 / DEC.19, 1905. FEB.14, 1911. AUG.19, 1913" with the "Rampant Colt logo" and "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.". The right side of the slide is marked "MODEL OF 1911. U. S. ARMY". The right side of the frame is marked "NO 476471" and "SA" above the front of the trigger guard. The left side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and behind the trigger is the "Eagle's Head 517" (Springfield's Inspection Mark). The top of the barrel at the port opening is marked with a vertical "5" with no other markings. The top rear face of the slide is marked "H". The flat on the top rear of the frame is marked "H" and "G", and the right rail is marked with an "8". The front sight is a short-rounded blade. The rear sight is a "U" notch dovetailed into the slide. The grips are checkered plastic with circles around the grip screws. The plastic grips and short trigger are probably from a 1911A1. The thumb part of the hammer is a wider style that is checkered. The magazine has no lanyard loop and no visible markings. .45 Auto SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Chambers: Semi auto.
