Description:
This is a nice set of two Antique Sheffield Pocket Knives manufactured by Carver/Geo. Butler. The first is a nice bone handled 4 1/8th" closed Jack in very good original condition with 2 5/8" heavily sharpened blade with nice snap, light speckling and clearly marked "J.CARVR LTD" and "MADE IN SHEFFIELD" on the reverse. The bolster is lightly specked and the liners have some oxidation as does the bail. The scales are in excellent condition with no apparent chips or cracks. The second is a 3 5/8" curved Jack in very good condition with a 2 1/2" Wharncliffe style blade, in good condition with light specked surface, low snap with one chip in the center. The blade is clearly marked "GEO.BUTLER'S TACKLER'S KNIFE" and "SHEFFIELD ENGLAND" and ART inside and oval. The scales are in very good+ condition with only one slight crack near one pin. Nice pair of mid 18th century Jacks.
