Maynard 1st Model saddle ring Carbine  Mfg’d 1858-1859   5,000 produced  35 cal Bore Exc  Lined , Mech Exc, Wood VG plus and has an original iron buttplate and compartment with Maynard patent info, Has an original 20” rd barrel with replaced front sight and rear sight has been removed so the tang sight is the rear sight that was being used. The receiver has maynard markings on the right side .This carbine has been rebuilt with new screws and the action is tight and was being used in competitions and is said to be very accurate. Metal overall has a dark aged finish with fine pitting and surface rustplete except for the rear sight . Very Rare Caliber and may be confederate. As 6,770 carbines were in confederate hands during the war . 5000 in 35.caliber purchased by Florida  used throughout the South and the North. Very popular. 12 rounds a minute.  Has extra barrel 28” custom barrel
