Description:
28 inch round barrel chambered in 45-60 caliber with a slightly worn bore that shows light frosting. Sights include a blade front and an "1876" marked folding ladder rear. Barrel and full length magazine tube appear to have been cleaned long ago and have areas of reapplied blued finish that is thinning to a gray patina. Open top receiver shows scattered light spots of oxidation with remnants of a re-blue. Hammer and lever have slight traces of case colors. Nice functioning action. Walnut stocks are in good condition with a coat of finish added. Crescent rifle style buttplate. A very unusual rifle to have an "Open Top" this late in production. Made in 1881.
