Description:
One of the great rarities and most desirable guns in the worldwide market - the subgauge prewar Boss Round Body. Built in 1932 - Presented here is a fantastic example built with 26" barrels. Splinter forend is finely checkered and has engraved Anson type pushbutton release and iron. The round body sidelock receiver is beautifully engraved, most certainly the work of J. Sumner. Gun made with double triggers, auto ejectors, and auto safety. Gun is beautifully stocked with a very nicely figured straight grip buttstock over an aging full leather covered pad. Gun is housed in its original full leather case with accessories as seen in the photos.
The gun remains in beautiful overall condition and original as serviced by the maker through the years. Barrels are excellent with beautiful factory blue. The round body frame retains about 40% of the original case color and the engraving remains crisp as seen in the photos. Stocks are sound and excellent with beautiful finish. Bores are brilliant and shiny. Mechanics are excellent. Case is excellent as well.
