Description:
US made Kentucky half stock 45 caliber percussion rifle. Wood Kentucky style half stock with raised cheek plate and brass insert. Butt stock with brass butt plate insert. Brass trigger guard , brass patch box cover and brass ram rod holders. J. Dickert ( 1740 - 1822 ) Landcaster, PA. engraved 29 in. long octagon 45 caliber barrel with open rear sight and a front brass bead sight. Engraved side plate. Cocking mechanism and trigger functions but may have missing parts. Ram rod with brass cap. Stock and forend has some small cracks, scuffs and dings. Some missing and / or worn out parts. Barrel has light to heavy pitting. The Kentucky half stock rifles were manufactured from the early to mid 19th century in both Pennsylvania and Kentucky. Many were crafted by German immigrant gun makers during that period. Note this rifle can not be fired and is being offered as a decorative wall hanger.
