Description:
This 1978 right-hand bolt action rifle is a Sturm, Ruger & Co M77 chambered in .22-250 Remington. It has a smooth, curved trigger, a tang safety, a hinged floor plate, an original Ruger Phoenix emblem orange butt pad, the stock is a one-piece checkered wood fore arm and pistol grip, and a fluted straight comb butt stock. There are sling studs on the belly of the buttstock and forend. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. It has a 13¾" LOP and an overall length of 42¼". The buttpad shows very light wear. This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish, with some very light thinning at the muzzle, but with no freckling or rust noticeable. All markings are clear. The Ruger M77 is a robust bolt-action rifle designed in 1968 by L. James Sullivan during his short three-years of work with Ruger. Intended to be a modernized Mauser 98, it featured simplified ejector updates and a newly designed safety system. This rifle retains that classy Ruger look, with very rich, highly polished bluing and a handsome walnut stock. In excellent condition and largely free of notable wear, this 46-year-old firearm would be a fine addition to your collection. With the slightly tapered barrel, and being chambered for .22-250 Remington this rifle is ideal for large varmints and bigger game such as deer. .22-250 Remington
