Winchester 28g and 20g Golden Quail Series Two Gun Set.
Winchester made the Golden Quail series between 1984 & 1987 offering 500 each year in a different gauge. These 2 guns are being offered as a set as they have the same serial numbers, but one in 28g and 20g.
Based on a boxlock action with a single selective trigger and a automatic safety.
Each receiver has a silver finish with pointing dog and flushing quail game scenes engraved on each side of the action. The words “One of 500” and “Golden Quail” engraved on the bottom of the receiver over the head of a Bobwhite quail inlaid in gold.
The “Golden Quail” series have 25 1/2” Monoblock barrels with traditional solid ribs, single white bead, 2 ¾” chambers, choked Q1 & Q2, and engraved wedges over the breeches.
Each gun is nicely stocked with Claro Walnut, straight hand grip, beavertail forend, and a 14 ¼” LOP over a thin factory pad.
The condition of the metal is very nice, the bores on both guns are perfect.
Both guns show signs of being shot with handling marks on the stocks, but no signs of repair. Overall, both guns remain at about 97% condition.
Both guns are in their factory cases. The 28g weighs 6lb 15oz, and the 20g gun weighs 6lbs 10oz.
