Description:
Springfield 1899 Carbine Krag Jorgensen chambered in .30-40 Krag. Krag Model 1898 Rifle was the first smokeless powder repeating firearm adopted by the United States. This rifle also marked the beginning of the change from large caliber/low muzzle velocity ammunition to smaller caliber/higher energy rounds for military applications. It was used in the Boxer Rebellion, Spanish-American War and in the Philippine-American War before it was replaced by the Model 1903 Springfield. The carbine shared the features of the Krag rifle, but with a 22-inch barrel and shortened stock. .30-40 Krag
