Synopsis: Rare Ithaca Model 37 DS Police Special Trench Shotgun, with consigner stating that this was formerly the property of the Tampa, FL Police Department. Description: Rarely encountered Ithaca Model 37 DS Police Shotgun, 12 gauge, 2 ¾ in. chamber, with a 20 in. barrel, fixed bead front sight and fixed buckhorn-style rear sight. The barrel is marked with the usual “D.S. POLICE SPECIAL” along with the gauge, chambering, etc. Full serial number on right side of receiver. Consigner states this was formerly the property of the Tampa Police Department, FL. Presumably that was when the ventilated handguard and trench bayonet lug was added along with the “TPD” initials on the right side of the receiver and the carved “82” under the pistol grip. As correct for this gun all major parts are parkerized with blued sights and blued screws/ring on bayonet lug. Condition: VG+ with scattered scuffs and thin spots, as one might expect from a police department rack shotgun. Wood and butt stock in comparable condition. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics.
