Included with this pistol is a letter from the Musée de Papeete in Tahiti authenticating the pistol had been part of the arsenal for the French garrison on Tahiti and were given to the museum after being declared obsolete and were then sold in 1960.This pistol was used by cavalry and marines alike. This pistol saw service in Tahiti, as others did in France’s various colonies throughout the world. The overall condition is good. Patina throughout. Excellent action. The bore is dark with visible rifling. The stock has a stable crack at the front of the pistol grip and shows use throughout. Belt hook is absent. Inspection markings throughout. Numbers match.
