Description:
EXCELLENT 1894 INTRODUCTORY YEAR 1902 .32 WINCHESTER SPECIAL OCTAGON RIFLE, #146XXX. The .32 WS was first manufactured and offered in 1902 making this one of the very first of its kind. This early example retains excellent deep blue on the receiver with only light edge and upper tang wear. Even the bolt and receiver ring retain bright blue. Screw heads look unturned. Barrrel and magazine tube also show about all the deep factory blue as does the forend cap with edge wear. Exc. stock and forend showing normal very light handling and tight wood to metal fit. Still some good light case color on the lever. Bore is a little dark with strong rifling. Flat top buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar intact and small Lyman blade/bead front sight. Tight action and strong safety half-cock. It would be difficult to find an earlier example combining this condition.
