Description:
A ONE OF A KIND Trade Gun MODIFICATION: This is a recreation of a Brown Bess British Army muzzle-loading smoothbore flintlock musket which has been rapped with rawhide parfleche and brass tacked to represent a Northern Plains Native American arm. The lock is stamped with a British Crown having ?GR? below. The base is a 1970's vintage Brown Bess made by Lyman Middlefield Conn. and so marked on the barrel. Made for the United States Bicentennial Apr 1, 1975 – Jul 4, 1976. It has been appropriately and artfully modified to an indian trade gun, for trade the fur trade era. It is a .75 cal musket with the barrel shortened to 30 1/2" barrel, with overall length 46 1/2" . The darkened stock is perfectly sound and the lock functions well with great spark. Ready for either shot or ball.
