Description:
Winchester Model 1892 in .25-20 WCF with a 24" round barrel. The rifle is in expected condition for its age with finish loss on the receiver and butt plate. Most of the finish is missing or has turned to a patina. The barrel and mag tube shows thining and missing color in areas. The left of the barrel is marked "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO.", and "25-20 WCF" behind the rear sight. The top-rear of the barrel has a Winchester proof and an ovalled "P". The underside of the receiver is marked "911761" at the front. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 1892 / -WINCHESTER- / TRADE MARK". There is a Winchester proof on the top of the chamber ring. The front sight blade is marked "PAT NOV.4.02" and screwed to the dovetail at the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a "V"-notch semi-buckhorn elevator sight dovetailed to the rear of the barrel. The stocks are 2-piece smooth walnut with capped forend, straight grip, straight comb, and steel crescent buttplate. .25-20 WCF
