This custom Ruger No. 1, chambered in 7mm Remington Magnum with serial number 130-15234, is an exceptional example of craftsmanship and design. Manufactured in 1975, it features a single-shot falling block action with a 26" barrel and a 13.5" length of pull, finished with a leather-covered recoil pad. The rifle weighs 9 lbs 5 oz with the scope and 8 lbs without, providing a well-balanced platform for precision shooting.
The rifle showcases stunning scroll engraving across nearly the entire action, with intricate game scene portraits on either side. The left side displays a powerful mouflon ram, while the right features a majestic roe buck, both expertly detailed. The quarter rib has been matted and features scroll engraving accents, complementing the ramped and banded front sight. The standing rear express sight includes a gold line and "100" inlaid in gold, adding to the rifle's elegance.
A Swarovski Habicht 6x42 Nova scope with a German #4 reticle is mounted using German claw mounts on the quarter rib. The scope remains in very good condition with clear optics, a crisp reticle, and smooth dials, ensuring reliable performance in the field.
The custom European walnut stock is beautifully figured and features sharp checkering on the pistol grip and forend. The leather-covered recoil pad, engraved steel pistol grip cap, and steel forend tip further enhance the rifle's aesthetic.
In outstanding overall condition, the rifle exhibits only faint wear consistent with its age. The bore is clear with sharp rifling, the action operates smoothly and locks up tightly, and the trigger is crisp.
