Description:
"SN: 3136 made in France. 20 gauge side by side with 27.5" barrels with a matted rib, single brass bead sight, 2 ¾" chambers and fixed chokes measuring .020/.030 (Improved Mod/Full). Side lock with ejectors, cocking indicators and double triggers with an articulated front trigger. 14" LOP to a solid checkered butt with a drop of 1 ¼" to 2 ¼" and an overall weight of 5lbs 15oz. This is a great example of a very fine guild made shotgun, no single makers name on the action or top rib but barrels made by Jean Breuil and action made by Nicolas Jacquet marked “Ns. Jacquet" on the inside of the lock plates. Action is fully engraved in tasteful rose and scroll which continues on to the trigger guard. Barrels are in very good condition with bright bores and only light wear to the bluing and the action is in excellent condition with very fine detail in the engraving and original case colors. The stock and forearm are in good condition with normal wear and handling marks, a double line has been carved about ½" from the butt evenly around the stock and the forearm has the initials “NM" inlaid in gold. Barrels lock up tight with the action on face and the top lever sits right of center. Comes with a canvas Alexandre Mareuil luggage case.
