Description:
Colt SAA US Artillery 45 cal Bore VG, Mech Exc tight lockup, Original grips no markings visible Gd. Has a 5 ½” Rd barrel with original front sight and one line address early Italic lettering also has a P and A marking and the serial# 8411 visible without removing the ejector housing (1000 to 1200 had this feature). Ejector housing is an early style with stud and screw hole. The frame has Exc 2 line 71 & 72 Patent dates and the US marking also has the serial#743 with no inspector marking Ainsworth frames were unmarked. also a C marking in the hammer slot. The triggerguard is #541 with small A marking. The backstrap is # 9222 and a G marking.May have one digit after the 9 but not visible. The cylinder has the RAC #4228 and a P marking. Has the correct type hammer. Metal overall has an aged brown patina finish with traces of some very fine pitting.
