Here is a Forehand and Wadsworth New Model Army chambered in 44-40 Flaydermans says less than 1000 were made but based on my research there were around 600 made. They were made in the late 1870' to the 1880's. The action works with a sharp pull back. The hand stays engaged so the cylinder does not spin. You can remove the cylinder, the ejector works, and the cylinder gate swings open. Great old west revolver.
