This is a 1953-made revolver that has retained 92-95% of the original blue finish with some fading on the sides of the barrel at the muzzle, some mild fading along the gripstraps, and a mild turn-ring on the rear of the cylinder. There is some mild freckling present on the sides of the hammer spur as well. The checkered walnut grips are not original, but fit very well, and have only some minor flattening of the points on either panel. The lock-up is tight and the action functions flawlessly in both single and double-action. The revolver is housed in its original brown box, numbered to the gun on the bottom, along with a Colt safe gun handling pamphlet. This is a fine, little-used Detective Special overall.
