Vintage Firearms Inc is pleased to offer this lightweight, upland gun from Ugartechea, one of Spain’s premier gunmakers well known the world over for making solid, well finished and affordable guns. This example is a Grade III built in 1985, it is serial numbered 171495 with 26 ¾” barrels. Weighing under 6lbs. at 5 pounds 14 ounces this handy side-by-side is balanced ahead of the hinge pin. The barrels are of the chopper lump design, long heralded as the very best method of joining the barrels and utilized mostly in “BEST GUNS” from the likes of Purdey and Holland & Holland. The barrels are tight on the hinge and breech face feature mirror bores, a smooth concave rib that rings like bells, 99% factory blue, and are choked a very useful IC/F with 2 ¾” chambers, and well-timed ejectors. The receiver retains 99% factory coin finish with crisp scroll engraving and is in perfect mechanical condition with crisp double triggers, auto safety and perfect screws. The European Walnut has straight figure and excellent hand cut checkering with double borders, the length of pull is 14 1/4”, wood to metal fit is excellent, there are some handling marks. These are known to be reliable guns, and this one is nice and light, lively and quick pointing, and a joy to handle.  This Grade 3 is priced affordably for a boxlock built by old school gunsmiths, what’s not to like? Ideal for upland hunts and clays season. Thanks for looking!
