Description:
The FN 49 was designed after WWII and was plagued by the huge surplus market as well as politics. FN finally marketed it to countries who didn't want to join with the Soviets or the Western nations. Egypt was one such nation and this rifle was produced for them. It is an autoloading rifle and in form factor seems much like the M14 which would come along a few later. They were well-made and well-regarded. 8mm Mauser
