Description:
The Enfield No. 2 owes its origin to the Webley Mk 4. Webley originated the design based on the S&W top break revolvers, and when they were gearing up for production, found Enfield had the contract with a slightly different design. Enfield went on to produce the pistols, but legal disputes ensued with Webley "winning" an award. The main outward differences are in the grips and the absence of the screw beneath the spurless hammer, presumably related to the single action mode on its precursors. The No. 2 was chambered in .38 S&W, rather than the .455 Webley to reduce perceived recoil fatigue in new recruits. The Mk2* eliminated the single action mode, sadly making the revolver double action only, with a trigger pull comparable to the Russian Nagant which has been measured up to 28 lb. Pulling the trigger on these is a work-out all by itself. This one is in Very good condition with most of the finish intact, and the grips showing a little handling. .38 S&W
