Description:
Springfield M1 Garand semi auto rifle with 24" barrel chambered in .30-06. Serial number dates it to 1943.
Has gone through a re-arsenal at some point with a 1953 dated SA barrel and likely replacement stock as the metal fits a bit 'proud' to the wood.
Muzzle wear gauges to approximately 1.75 on my gauge with ‘0’ being new. Throat erosion of about 3.
Bolt heat treat lot batch number appears to be correct for the 1943 era and is most likely original to the rifle.
Bore is bright and shiny with sharp rifling. Possibly some thin frosting, but may also just need a good scrubbing as its faint and hard to tell.
I cannot find any import marks.
