Description:
"SN: 6633 made circa 1880’s in England. 28 gauge nitro proofed Damascus barrel measuring 28" with 2 ¾" chamber choked IC (.004). Marked “W.M. RAWBONE. BIRMINGHAM AND CAPE TOWN" on the barrel, the proof marks are from the Birmingham Proof House where it was re-proofed for smokeless powder and given the BNP stamp on the barrel and action. Top lever engraved single side lock action with an exposed hammer. Nicely figured checkered walnut furniture, 15" LOP to a 1" brown pad. The forearm has been professionally extended, hidden under the checkering and an ebony forend tip added. Bore is bright with some very light pitting, Damascus pattern is faded but visible and the furniture is in very good condition with some light handling marks. Overall condition is very good.
