Description:
BISLEY IN DESIRABLE .45 COLT CALIBER WITH 4 3/4" BARREL, #212XXX, MADE 1901. This is a true uncleaned and unmessed with "Attic Condition" Bisley. It has that great authentic look and ageing that took about 124 years to display! Screw heads appear about unturned, grips show some wear but are not chipped or cracked and fit perfectly. The front sight has not been altered and the action has four clicks (first click a little weak). All markings are sharp and clear including the correct two line barrel address. The bore is fairly bright with strong rifling and any corrosion is light and scattered. The frame is a mottled dark gray/brown with some minor case color remaining mainly on the right side ahead of the cylinder. Grip straps and trigger guard are a light brown with traces of blue in the upper edges. Thinning blue mixing a little gray/brown on the cylinder with deeper blue in the flutes, good aged blue on the barrel top and protected areas by the ejector housing which also shows aged blue in the protected upper and lower areas. The most popular caliber in the Bisley was the .32-20 with 13,291 made; followed by the .38-40 with 12,613 made. There were only 8,005 Bisley's made in .45 Colt in all three barrel lengths. This pne has a good look and "feel."
